Introduction

Tanah Papua has a wealth of biological resources, including various types of medicinal herbs. After the red fruit, the grass comes. Indeed there are no clinical trials, but many people believe this grass can help increase Fertility in Women. In addition to medical methods, it is not uncommon for couples who want their children to take non-medical or alternative treatments, one of which is by using herbs. What is being discussed about herbs to help increase fertility is  Kebar grass.

Immune System

This shrub, which has the Latin name (“Biophytum petersianum Klotzsch”), is found in Kebar District, Manokwari, Papua. Therefore, the Papuan people declare the land of Papua to be the true home of Kebar grass. However, on a site it is written that the plant belonging to the Oxalidaceae family comes from Mali, West Africa.

What exactly is Kebar Grass?

In the country there is not much literature that can provide a complete picture of this shrub. One of the sources of writing is the work of Agnes Noni Novita H. Imbiri, Franc Wanggai, and Rudi A. Maturbongs. The students at the Papua State University (Unipa) wrote about the ecology of Kebar grass (Biophytum petersianum Klotzsch) in Kebar District, Manokwari, Papua, as the true home of this grass. In the article, it is explained that the grass has the appearance of reeds. Its spread started from Africa, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, to other islands in Indonesia, especially Papua.Regarding its benefits as uterine fertilization, it is common knowledge. Not surprisingly, Unipa conducted a study and the results were encouraging. From the results of these studies, it is reported that Kebar grass can be an alternative for women or couples who do not have children.

The Uterine wall is thickened

Other scientific studies on a limited scale have been conducted by Drs. Sukarsono MSi., Lecturer at the Faculty of Teacher Training, Muhamadiyah University, Malang. Apart from teaching, Sukarsono is also active in various environmental conservation activities. His introduction to grass Kebar originated from his colleagues at the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (Kehati).Several years ago, at the invitation of his colleague, Sukarsono conducted a field survey in Papua and was interested in researching Kebar Grass. With his own funds, Sukarsono and his team conducted a research by giving Kebar grass extract to experimental animals, namely mice. The boiled water of Kebar grass (previously dried) was given as a drink to five mice for two weeks. For comparison, five other rats were only given fresh water. The results turned out to provide a positive picture, namely the occurrence of significant thickening of the uterine wall or uterus of the rats given the grass extract. This thickening of the uterine wall means that it can assist the fertilization process in the pregnancy process. The reason is, the thick uterine wall makes it easier for sperm to stick and at the same time facilitates the pregnancy process.Unfortunately, the results of this study have not been followed up. It is hoped that in the future there will be other parties, especially the pharmaceutical industry, who are interested in developing the potential of Kebar grass into phytopharmaca. In the community, empirically, the efficacy of Kebar grass as fertilizing uterus has long been used. Currently, the native Papuan Kebar grass business is estimated at tens of millions per year.Mixing Kebar GrassUsing Kebar grass as a concoction is actually easy. For large quantities, more than one glass, take enough dry Kebar grass, then boil it until it boils, after that strain and chill. For small sizes, for example, one cup or glass, Kebar grass is simply brewed with boiling water like making tea. In order to taste sweet, add honey to taste.
